I looked around the greenhouses, and what did I see? A whole bunch of carnivorous plants who were looking at me. Sarracenia, mostly, but there was also a flytrap and a nepenthes. Pretty soon there will be a multitude of plants but this is all I have for now.

Keep In Touch and Future Videos

This is Jonathan's World!

Many changes have occurred and within the next two weeks there will be a large increase in the number of videos on this blog, mainly because I am playing catch up with the end of the semester. I would like to say thanks to all my fans (I know there are not many, but thanks anyway). Also I wanted to through some links associated with the show at you. This way you can contact me using a variety of methods.

1. Meebo
I added a meebo chat to the blog (you can see it on the top right. This chat allows me to see what people have been saying about my videos. If you leave me a message there (an anyone can) I will be sure to respond.
So what is meebo? It is an internet site (meebo.com) which allows to you talk through multiple IM clients at the same time. What I like the most about it is that you can even video conference your friends on ANY IM Network using ustream.tv and TokBox.

2. Gmail
That's right folks, I went out of my way to get a gmail account. You can actually IM me when I am online. The link to that is to the right. There will be a green button allowing people to see when I am online.

Another thing I wanted to mention was future Jonathan's World Episodes. They include another Karaoke episode which will have Crystal and Julius in it. Later this summer I will hopefully be posting video game guides (Secret of Mana and Loco Roco), and a few videos about my research and the friends I will be meeting at Harvard Forest.

Jworld 32 Jmejia's Solo Karaoke

In this episode I sing Karaoke in front of people in the campus pub (Brennan's). I sing two songs: Coldplays - Speed Of Sound and Josh Groban - To Where You Are. I was the first person to sing (Coldplay) and one of the last people to finish. There were many ther people who did karaoke that night and some of them will be featured in Jworld 33 (Including my duet with Crystal). I know the audio is bad for the Coldplay song. Also it was Justin who said I had guts after I sang Coldplay.
Also I was going to rip the song from the video and put all the songs I sang up for download, including the Jworld themes (I have 3 or 4 now). This will be available on my blog later for download.
In the beginning of this video there is a juggling scene with Dusin and David. This is only for when my theme is playing. I have way too much footage available that I need to get rid of.

JWorld 31 Special jugglers DDR at Concerts

Wow, Too many people for one episode:

Gabe, Zari, Andy, Dustin, Crystal, Steve, Justin.

This video is mainly a compilation of clips I had lying around. Stay tuned to the end of this video for bloopers!. T video contains clips of the juggling club juggling in LnL, and Crystal juggling in Billings. Then Zari  plays on a chair in U-Heights (we pretend the chair is latest tech). Afterwords, me Zari and Steve play DDR. One of my friend deleted the cool clip where Steve filmed us from on top of the bed, but it is okay since the rest of the video turned out fine. At the end of the video, there is a clip where I am sitting down during a break in a concert! The concert was cool. I went with Alex (my friend) and my girlfriend. 

In the bloopers Crystal tries to juggle the ball under her legs. Zari puts her hand in the camera and my faces are dumb (from concert). One last blooper is a sentence which did not come out right from the introduction.

Pretty soon some good episodes will be coming up, including Juggling.

I know the semester is nearing an end, but I thought it would be as good a time as any to work on these videos. They are beginning to take up a lot of space on my macs Hard Drive.
This is the 2 girls 1 cup reaction video, which was recorded in Mason. It features Zari and Crystal.
What is 2 Girls 1 Cup? It is a disgusting vile and completely perverse video which no one under any circumstances should see. Make reactions to it is very popular on youtube, so I thought I would try my hand at it. However I know I do not have the stomache for such a thing. Because of this, I have asked my two good friends Zari and Crystal to do the reaction, and they did.

In this episode of Jonathan's World I am walking around Disney's Animal Kingdom and enjoying nature. It all starts off with an upside down tree. Apparently it only leafs out for a few weeks out of the whole year! It looks like roots sticking up out of the ground, hence the name. Then we go on to looking at all the wonderful ferns. From the ferns we move onto orchids. From orchids we go into my Recommendation: Cheerios.

In this Jonathan's World I go back to basics. I speak to my fans, give an introduction, an even have bloopers and outtakes in the end!
This video features my sisters, Tiffany and Mara. They may seem a bit weird, but it is only because they were so happy I came to visit. You also get to see Aleya, my cousin's (Adrians) baby. You also get a glimpse of my uncle junior, my mother and my cousin eddie. Most of the clips were taken in my aunts house, at home, in the mall, car, our while we were out at Target.
Then we go back to the dorm rooms, specifically, University heights, where I spend some time hanging out with Crystal and Justin. She attacks me withn a hand puppet bear that not only makes weird noises, but also has someone's hand up his butt. We also get a glimpse at Justin's Skelanimal. I love Winnie the Pooh as much as the next inner child, but when I saw this I couldn't help but take video footage! This footage was taken in Disney's Animal Kingdom. It includes Winnoe, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore. The video itself was taken over Spring Break 08, and features mostly me, but if you look carefully you can see my girlfriend in it too.

Many of you may be having some questions, questions like:

This can be a preview of whats to come.
Summary: In this video you get to see the Nasa shuttle launch which took place at 2:30 a.m. That's why the video is so dark. Also I am playing DDR in Magical midway. Plus there is some footage of me trying on hats in a store in Disney. Specifically the theme park is called Animal Kingdom. There are some other shots of the theme park including an Afican dance (which I put to HIM music). The footage was a bit too long, so I sped it up a bit. In the end I am walking through the store in Disney looking for some Mickey Mouse ears.

I know I spell "putt" wrong in the video.
Summary: This video was recorded on a PSP Go!Cam. All of the footage was taken in one day and includes clips of my friends. Kofi, Alyssa, Noelle and Melissa can be seen in this video. Alyssa says to keep an eye out for her 5 facts which she says are coming soon. Also if you like Kofi then email him directly. Just search him on Facebook.
Noelle hasn't played DDR much but she was doing a fine job in this video. i got her playing and doing a combo! She won the game which was cool too.
Something I did not get on camera was laser tag. I didn't get it because I was busy shooting people but it was cool. As for the product endorsement, no, I am not getting paid to endorse PESPSI, but I do prefer it over all of the coke products with the exception of XXX Vitamin water. This video has a lot of DDR but it also has friends laughing and just having a good time. I think it will not be one of the most popular ones, but it will be one to remember.

Summary: This clips were taken in VT, although they were taken in different locations. Hannafords and The fireplace lounge in Living and Learning. There is also a point where I comment on the flowers in Starbucks (it's winter, who are they fooling?). In short, I cover cohost interviews, Ecological world cuisine meeting, nicknaming Sara (we decided on Minnie), and a faulty soda machine. In the end we come to the conclusion that Jonathan's World has no point. Also I didn't notice until it was done, but the end of the video has an error (which completely contradicts the beginning of the video).

Clips: All of these clips were taken on a PSP and edited on iMovie.

This is another of the juggling Clubs videos, but this one is massively different, mainly because it is Funny as Hell. I slam into a garbage can. We have a POV and a spectators shot of the action. Everyone can see how embarrased I was. There was also a scene where we found an old picture of the juggling club and decided to critique it. Crystal does a good job at describing the picture. And Dustin does a good job and picking fights with Crystal. Rich also returns some much needed balls to the club and I embarrase myself once again by breaking a pin. This just was not my month. Anyway, this video is fairly recent. There is also a portion where we do a Final Fantasy X (10) reference, and a portion where David does the back breaking Neo move from the Matrix. He also catches rings while doing it, which I thought was awesome.This was also a picture in Picture. One shot was taken by me the other by Crystal. I give her Credit to her videos. Dustin also recorded the first shot of Crystal Throwing a ball at him...

How to operate a keyblade. I got the idea of making this video from nigahiga's "How to be a (Blank)" series. This video basically is fully of clips I took with me holding my pumkpinhead and Kingdom keyblades. For those of you who are not familiar with what a keyblade is, it is a sword in the shape of a key. It is used by many characters in the Kingdom Hearts series to battle Heartless and Nobodies. Sora, Roxas and Riku are just a few of the characters in this series that uses this type of weapon.

Jonathan's World 20 - DDR Friday

Jonathan's World 20 - DDR Fridays
I usually play DDR on Friday nights. This footage was taken on 2.15.2008. If you want to play DDR it usually occurs in LnL room 315, on Friday nights (past 8 o'clock usually). We usually watch the Japanese House movie (5:30) right before playing DDR . This week it was Nana 2, a really good movie based off of a manga which I have never read (but I think I might be tempted to read it sometime soon).

In this footage we have my friends Crystal, Shannon, Dustin, and John playing DDR. I was also seen playing the game. Be sure to watch the end of the video which contains bloopers (which you may or may not find amusing).
We played DDR to many of the popular songs such as MAX 300, Paranoia Max, Butterfly, Captain Jack, Twilight Zone and others. I currently own DDR Extreme 2, DDR Max, DDR Max 2, DDR Supernova, DDR supernova 2, and DDR Disney Channel Edition (although no footage from this latter DDR was taken). I only have a PS2 which means I do not have any of the DDR's currently available for the XBOX. We were swapping disks all night so I cannot identify which songs came from which game.
This footage was editted in iMovie and can be found on youtube.
While this footage is recent I want to emphasize that I do not always record DDR sessions. If you are camera shy, do not let that discourage you from coming to play. As a matter of fact, many people who attended last Fridays DDR have decided not to be in the publicly released videos and were cut out of the footage.

Rubiks Revenge
I was recently given the opportunity to obtain a 4x4x4 rubiks cube. While I am still unable to solve it without a list of algorithms, I have discovered that now that I havee a 4x4x4 cube my 3x3x3 cube is useless. This is because the Rubiks Revenge is 3 cubes in one. It is a 2x2x2 cube a 3x3x3 cube and a 4x4x4 cube. In this video I show how this revenge cube is a 3x3x3 and a 2x2x2 cube. I fast forward the parts when i am solving it because it is boring, but I show how I do the top side of the cube.

I have created a new theme to Jonathan's World yet again. In this video I differentiate between Jonathan the actor and Joe the editor. Joe is the person who tried to show the best of Jonathan. Jonathan in reality is really embarrassing. If you really saw everything Jonathan did, you would probably die of embarrassment for him. Any way, I also talk about my recent youtube problems, however I have solved them using Miro for mac, and online flv converters.
Also I talk about lip singing. I will post as my next video, never let go by Josh Groban. It was a very early video from before Jonathan's World began and it is already available on youtube, but my subscribers should see it. I also plan on incorporating more lip singing into my jworld videos.

Five Facts
The five facts videos have been spreading through youtube. I have not been tagged per say but I saw Dan's fivee facts video and decided to make my own. Here they are:

In this Jonathans World I try to complete missions. The first mission is to win the iPod, which I do not do. I actually played the game at the Majectic 10 movie theatre in VT.
The second mission was to buy headphones and get to physics class. I do this just in time. The music you hear in this video is the Jonathans World theme, and a remix of the battle theme from Final Fantasy 9. All of the clips in this video were recorded on the PSP, and editted on iMovie. This video was recorded in January '08.
After recording this video I found my lost headphones (I had left them in Sara's room). Also at the end of the video I ran into Gabe and you all get to check out his haircut. I wish I had the confidence in other people to let them cut my hair. I need it. But If I do get a haircut, you should all feel good to know that I would put it on Jonathans World.

Jonathans World and the Great Juggling Adventure
This video is not an official Jonathans World video but it is a side series called the Great Juggling Adventure. I made it to chronicle the events of the Juggling Club. This video is also on youtube placed under the username jmejia1. I finished editing it on 1.31.2008. Although there is newer footage of thee juggling club from a more recent juggling club meeting, this video is as recent as you can get. It also states the location and the times of th juggling club meetings. In this video, David, Zari, Andy, Skyler, Milan, and me Jonathan.

Jonathan's World 14 - Friends
Description - This is a mix of all the clips I had which contained my friends here at UVM. Sarah, Melissa, Carly, Jonathan and David are in this film. I though since they were my friends it would be cool to have the friends theme playing in the background. And while we are on the subject of music, I know it is obvious, but I changed the theme song to Jonathan's World again. I know it sounds a lot like Elmo's World, but I think it goes better than the first two themes I had. All footage, including the photos were taken on the psp chotto cam, and were either edited on GO!EDIT for the PSP or iMovie for the mac. The clips include a day when I was hanging out in Harris Millis Dining Hall, hanging out in Sarahs room (Ciao Bella), Hanging out with Melissa (Horny underwear), and DDR day (when David sticking out his tongue). The purpose of this video is to pay tribute to my friends.

Jonathan's World 13
Description: This has been a long time coming. Ever since Christmas I have been looking for the opportunity to use my "Orlando Florida Decor" footage. I thought it would make good transitions in this video. This video starts off with a "back to VT" feel. I didn't feel comfortable recording in front of people because they kept interrupting me. I felt like I didn't make my point clear in my last video (sorry to everyone who saw it and was confused). This is my attempt to clarify myself. Also I was more calm while making this one and I wasn't as upset. As for the security thing, my solution (to come up with a plan to make ALL schools safer), might or might not work. But when a problem such as safety is such a widespread concern, then a widespread solution must be found. In the end I come back to the Holiday decor. What you see was the decor outside my aunt Evelyn's house for the 2007 Holiday season. You also get to see Rachel, My mother, and my cousin Eddie at the end. For this Jonathan's World I recommend reading and education.

Context: I had seen zeitgeist and was delayed. In reality I wanted this to be a response to Dan's Video on Safety, a question to my audience about news sources, a scapegoat for my frustration and a way to clear my head and kill time. I later recorded something more thought out and coherent. It may show up in one of the next Jonathans World Episodes (I am currently making that footage available in Jonathan's World 13,a long with footage I took during Christmas, which consisted of many christmas decorations that never made any of my previous videos).
Also, I revamped the Jonathan's World Song a bit. This one was recorded by me on Garage band. It is an acapella with me singing over my voice 3 times.

This is a video from my last day in Orlando Florida. My sisters came back (Tiffany and Mara), from vacation in NY. My mother (Noemi, seen at the end) was upset because they both managed to get their tongues pierced without her permission. However to be fair they are 18, and they do have the right to do whatever they want with their body. Mara was able to get a tatoo of a treble clef. My mother wasn't happy about that either. Ardy is mentioned in this video. He is my sisters boyfriend (the one who managed to spit on mara's face).
There is one segment where my sister is complaining that my ipod died on her. The only charger I had connects to the computer and I refused to give it to her for fear that she will delete all of my music. At this point it is apparent that I am leaving so I am not seen much in this video. I was sad. Also the next Jonathan's World video will also have a bit of a depressing tone to it. But not to worry, many happy, crazy and random clips are soon to come!

I realized after a while in Fl, that I had accumulated a large amount of footage with my aunts pomeranian Rocky and my cousins new pit. A lot of the footage was deleted but this is what I was able to salvage. So this is basically an Ode to The Dogs in my family. No dogs were hurt during the making of this video. I captured and edited this video myself. The pit was a Christmas present for my cousin Jose. He is cool, although only Eddie shows promise for DDR...

I solved the rubiks cube and then I made the pattern. I put both videos in one (the solve and then the pattern). This video was taken on my new psp chotto camera. It is really interesting because I learned how to solve the cube while on vacation here in Florida. I solve it by layers using many algoriths... Jonathan's World -Vacation (Summer)

This starts off with some pictures of my Summer vacation in the NYC Madame Tuscaunds Wax Museum. It was a great experience taking all those pictures with all the stars. As the movie progressed we move onto Six Flags, where I jumped rope with Tweety and Bugs. This was in Agawam Massachusettes, and the Six Flags was called Six Flags New England. After I make a fool of myself, my sister takes over and makes herself queen of the rope. After a while we also see my family on a ride. That is about it. Overall it was fun but that night mom got sick.

The song in this video is Dance Dance by fallout boy. I first heard this song through DDR and it is now one of my favorite songs. While this is not an official Jonathan's World video, it does introduce you to my sister who will appear in a few videos from here on out. I went around the house looking for creatures to record. I had extensive footage on a hemiptera which i could not identify. I know that I identified the bug incorrectly as a bettle, but the wings were only half covered. That means when I mentioned Coleoptera in the video that was an inaccurate identification of the bug. I also managed to record many lizards. All of this footage was taken in Orlando Florida on the same day. The day is mentioned on the video. For more of my videos you can go to youtube.com/jmejia1

Before anyone complains, I know Florida is a peninsula and not an island, and I also know that the creatures in the video are not dangerous or elusive. Also excuse my language when the bug flies. I was a bit surprised by it flying and I was trying to recover from the shock of it's abilities. No animals were harmed during the production of this film. This is me and my family having fun during new years. There is also another clip I forgot to include in Jonathan's World 6 from Halloween where I (V from V for Vendetta) is stealing candy. In reality the candy was free. The last clip is from Christmas, when I was playing ball with the dog. The dog's name is rocky and he belongs to my aunt. He is a Pomeranian, and he is very grumpy. He will show upp in a later episode of Jonathans World. I do not hold any of the views expressed in this video that was not stated by me. this was a New years celebration and this video mainly includes my family

This is Jonathan's World 6. It consists of my last day in Physics and some DDR clips taking from Universal Studios. Also some family clips taken during thanksgiving. This video features music remixed by ChipmunkAlex (on youtube). It is unfortunate but sometimes good things come to an end. I also completed Final Fantasy Adventure, and you can the the ending picture at the end of this episode as well.

This is a video I took one day when I had a DDR sleepover. DDR stands for Dance Dance Revolution. The people in the sleepover included my girlfriend, my roomate (Steve), and my friends (Alex and Melissa).I also show off my keyblades and some pictures I took during the moon festival. There is also a short segment about my trip to ben and Jerry's. This is mainly a picture slideshow with bad audio quality.
